Are you having turkey for Thanksgiving? My hope is for all my Master Networker subscribers to have a wonderful Thanksgiving day and a chance to remember the things we may have, but often take for granted. This is a reminder that the Master Networker series is purposely set up for the beginning networker or for those considering networking or even for networkers who have yet to be successful in networking. This means that The Master Networker series covers basic networking principles with the purpose of developing a firm foundation for networking. "The Master Networker" will be void of information that will thrust you to a $90,000 income within 90 days or a $15,000 monthly income without doing any work. Why? Because that isn't how networking works. I've been in networking for twelve years, and I have yet to meet anyone who has obtained networking riches without working for it . . .especially $90,000 in ninety days. This series is about the real world of networking. NETWORK MARKETING: A NEW FORMULA FOR WEALTH! LET'S FACE FACTS - In order for any business to make profits, a product or service must be sold. By utilizing the network marketing sales approach, one can provide customers with personal service, high-quality products and the opportunity to earn exciting incomes, building their own marketing networks. Published reports by the giants in network marketing boast monthly bonus checks for some of their sales leaders in excess of $50,000 per month. I recently saw one for over $200,000 per month. As one banker put it, considering the cost of money today, yesterday's capital intensive businesses don't make sense. Network marketing represents the brightest horizon for new business opportunities in the nineties. More and more people are calling on friends to dicuss their direct-sales businesses. However, some are not calling to sell them products, but rather to tell them how to start their own marketing organizations. The method most often discussed is network marketing. It is clearly the method of the 90's and will grow even larger as we move into the 21st century. To understand network marketing, let's look first at its history and then examine why it is growing so fast. THE FASTEST-GROWING FIELD IN DIRECT SALES The first network marketing companies got their start about the time of the depression, but their bonus structures and distribution programs bear little resemblance to today's sleek marketing programs. It wasn't until the mid '60s that network marketing came into its own with the success of several large national companies. Today it is estimated that more than $20 billion worth of products are moved by this method each year. A conservative estimate says that figure should quadruple in this decade. HOW DOES NETWORK MARKETING WORK? ========================================= WE'RE #1! In network marketing you are #1. It doesn't make a bit of difference what level you are on. Your business starts with you! ========================================== Let's compare it to the two general methods of distributing products and services. These are the standard retail approach and the non-store marketing approach. In the standard retail approach, a company manufactures a product and sells it to a retail outlet, which markets the product to the customer. The non-store method includes a number of choices. The most popular are: door to door, mail order, direct mail and television sales. Now you can add to that marketing via the Internet. With today's consumer turning more and more to the convenience of in-home shopping, these methods are thriving. Network marketing falls into the non-store approach. It moves products through a nationwide and International wide network of distributors. Each is an independent contractor for the manufacturer and more than 98 percent run their business in their spare time. The major difference between network marketing and other non-store methods is that in others, most sales are retail to a retail customer. Most sales by large network marketing companies, however, are to distributors who either: A. purchase products for their own use at wholesale prices; B. purchase to build a retail business; or C. purchase to build a business of their own through both retailing and sponsoring other distributors. BIGGER INCOMES POSSIBLE Americans are turning to the idea of business ownership. While most people earn a living working for someone else, they are finding that they must move steadily up through the corporate structure to earn a higher income. However, the higher they move, the fewer positions there are. Add to that corporate downsizing, and you have millions of people who are open to another way to earn an income. At the same time, they are caught in an economic crunch. Forty-five years ago the average weekly cost of living for a family of four was less than $40 a week, and a job in the middle management meant financial independence. Today the weekly budget for the same family of four is $350. Network marketing can be an answer. For less than a $20 investment, an individual can get involved in a legitimate network marketing program and earn, according to published reports, from $100 a month to hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. Then there's the matter of skills and experience. An individual climbing the corporate ladder finds that positions are granted according to education, special skills, seniority and ability to handle responsibilities. In contrast, many of the real successes in network marketing are people with no previous marketing or sales experience. They need only to be caring, sharing people with high drive levels. I know of a 25 year old . . former auto mechanic who is now earning over $200,000 MONTHLY and it is because of his working one network marketing company . . .a company that is less than two years old. It can be done and apparently age has nothing to do with it. ========================================= There is no future in any job or business. The future lies in the person who is doing it. ========================================== A PRESTIGE BUSINESS Many people feel stymied in their nine-to-five jobs, held back, resentful of working by someone else's time clock. The network entrepreneur, however, enjoys a flexible schedule, the prestige of business ownership, and the chance to try out his or her own creativity. In fact, I've seen ads that say "earn money even while you sleep"! Network marketing is a big field that's going to be bigger. And so, when a friend calls to tell you about an exciting way to build your business, take time to hear what they have to say.
