With today being Valentine's Day, I felt it appropriate to have an article on "love." How about the "love" of money? Do we equate "love of money" to "greed"? Is money the root of all evil? Is that what the Bible REALLY says? How does how we think about money actually play a part in our financial rewards or losses? What is your "wealth consciousness? My friend, Linc Frye, sent me a very appropriate article I would like to share with you this week. Let's all take a look at how we inwardly perceive wealth and how we really feel about obtaining wealth. Linc has a very interesting perspective. ><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> This is a reminder that the Master Networker series is purposely set up for the beginning networker or for those considering networking or even for networkers who have yet to be successful in networking. This means that The Master Networker series covers basic networking principles with the purpose of developing a firm foundation for networking. "The Master Networker" will be void of information that will thrust you to a $90,000 income within 90 days or a $15,000 monthly income without doing any work. Why? Because that isn't how networking works. I've been in networking for thirteen years, and I have yet to meet anyone who has obtained networking riches without working for it . . .especially $90,000 in ninety days. This series is about the real world of networking. Get it right the first time! <><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><> WEALTH CONSCIOUSNESS On a scale of one (low) up to ten (high) where would you personally rank your desire for wealth? What are some of the mental fixations that are dragging this ranking down? For example, do you associate wealth with greed? Do you feel that money is the root of all evil? From a religious viewpoint, do you feel poverty is righteousness and wealth is a result of dishonest behavior? These are a few of the mental fixations many folks have and there are others. Take a moment or two and jot down any that come to mind - particularly any that you personally feel are a part of you and which are dragging your personal wealth desire down. Undertaking introspection in this area can bring out these fixations. Then you can take a good look at them and do something about them. You do need to get rid of them and get your perspective where it belongs. You may be working very hard to acquire a degree of wealth only to find the person in the mirror sabotaging your efforts - shooting you where it hurts financially. That person is doing this because of these fixations. With a very high degree of certainty, fixation identification followed by research and contemplation will destroy these fixations and result in a much smoother road leading to goal achievement. Greed has nothing what-so-ever to do with acquiring wealth. Those individuals who lack ambition and desire for achievement readily grasp greed as justification for their personal lack of income. They know that being greedy is negative. They justify their lack by satisfying themselves that they're not greedy. They look at wealthy folks as greedy people. Don't you ever fall into this trap by as much as one thousandth of an inch. Don't ever associate greed with acquiring wealth - if you do, it'll have a very detrimental effect on your desire ranking. When you have acquired a degree of wealth, then you can examine your motives to determine that greed is not a factor for continuing with your efforts. Making significant charitable contributions is a very distinct way to satisfy yourself that greed is not and never will be a factor. Where did the idea that money is the root of all evil come from? The Holy Bible tells us that the love of money is the root of all evil. The emphasis here is the love of money and that has nothing what-so-ever to do with the possession of money. Here again we see the influence of those who lack as they readily point the finger at the wealthy and classify them as evil. They have distorted a perfectly fine biblical teaching so as to satisfy themselves that they are the ones wearing the white hats. By keeping money in proper perspective, money-love will never become a factor. Money is nothing but a medium of exchange. Folks who have experienced poverty and also experienced wealth will very readily proclaim that wealth is much much better. It's far more satisfying - particularly in terms of what the possessor can do for others. No question that poverty squelches the ability to help others and typically places the individual and their family in a position where they must be helped by others. There simply isn't any personal satisfaction experienced from being in the position of being dependent on other people or even the government. We're aiming for financial independence not financial dependence. Many folks look at poverty as righteousness and wealth as being dishonestly achieved. In this way, they satisfy themselves that their God loves them and will see to it that they are rewarded at the end. It's really amazing how some folks rationalize their miserable position in an attempt at justification. The Holy Bible, The Torah, and The Koran all teach that God wants His people to prosper! Prosperity and poverty are at opposite ends of the scale. God's people can do so very much more if they are prosperous. There really isn't much that poverty stricken folks can do to further the Commandments of their God. There is a great deal that prosperous folks can do to further their religious beliefs. After you have identified any additional negative fixations within yourself, take a good long look at them and put each one in it's proper perspective and destroy it in it's entirety. It's quite surprising how much more you'll be able to achieve without these yokes all around your neck. Age and wisdom don't always arrive together - there're times age shows up all by itself.
